    Doris Dörrie

    German film director, producer and author

    Doris Dörrie (German:[ˈdoː.ʁɪsˈdœ.ri̯ə]ⓘ; born 26 May 1955) is a German film director, producer and author.

    Early life and education

    Born in Hanover, Dörrie completed her secondary education there in 1973. The same year, she began a two-year attendance in film studies in the drama department of the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.

    She then studied at the New School of Social Research in New York.
