Doles tells a different story
By Bob Quinn
MONROE — Monroe Town Supervisor Harley E. Doles III has a different account of what happened on Friday, Feb. 5, when he went to Town Hall on Orange Turnpike
Doles has been out on medical leave since the beginning of the year, although he continues to send emails to town officials and staff.
Acting Town Supervisor Tony Cardone has told town employees not to deal with Doles while he’s out on leave. The Town Board also has passed a resolution banning Doles from the Town of Monroe Arts and Civic Center - except to see a movie - at the risk of removal from office.
In an interview Thursday, Doles said he went to the office on Feb.
5 to check his emails and to find out information about some expenses.
He said he had emailed Town Attorney Brian Nugent, alerting him of what he wanted and that he would be stopping into Town Hall.
He also said he had been trying to contact Town Comptroller Peter J.
Martin regarding some purchases.
