Introduction
Described by William REES-MOGG as "one of the most interesting and talented of the Somerset families", the HIPPISLEYs were lords of the manor of Ston Easton for nearly 400 years.
They also owned estates in Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Devon and Ireland. In the 18th century they built the impressive mansion known as Ston Easton Park, which still stands today.
